Burn Permits

Burn Permits

Burn permits are issued at Palmhurst City Hall.
Permits are free of charge and valid for one month.

To obtain a burn permit, please provide:

  • Resident name, address, and phone number

  • Burn site location (inspection required)

A burn site inspection is required and must be approved by the Palmhurst Fire Marshal before a permit can be issued.

How a Burn Permit Works

Once your burn site is approved:

  1. Before you burn, the applicant must call City Hall to ask whether the desired burn day is considered a “good burn day.”

  2. City Hall will contact the Mission Fire Department for conditions.

  3. A City official will notify you if burning is permitted that day.

Burning Schedule for Approved Days:

  • Monday–Friday only

  • Fires must start between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

  • All burning must end by 1:00 p.m.

Liability & Safety Requirements

Burn permits are issued with the understanding that the City of Palmhurst is not liable for any damage to nearby properties.

Permit holders must follow these rules:

  • The fire must be supervised at all times.

  • A minimum of 100 gallons of dispensable water or a dependable flowing water source is required.

  • Brush piles must be located at least 100 feet from any structure.
